Dear Lord, I come to be baptized today
Doing what you have told me to do.
I'm small and many things I don't understand,
But Lord, I sure know I love you.

My Pastor said baptism is a picture story
Showing what you did for me.
It pictures your death on the cross, your burial,
And your great resurrection victory.

Now I know, even though I am small,
Just what you've done for me.
And I thank you, Lord, so very much
For making me free.

And I'm happy to proclaim
By my actions on this day
That I'm a child of God
And my sins are taken away.

So help me to grow, Dear Lord,
I want to be true.
I want my life to be a light
Bringing others to you.
