deer at Play
WATCHING THE DEER AT PLAY

Early morning, the breeze is still.
We rub the frost from the window sill
And gaze out across a snowy field
To watch the deer at play.

Like two excited children we laugh and say
What a beautiful sight this is today.
Wouldn't want it any other way.
Watching the deer at play.

They run and dance all around
Leaving little hoof marks on the ground.
We don't dare make a sound
Watching the deer at play.

Then early morning turns into day
And all too soon they are gone away.
But we will be here another day
To watch the deer at play.

Holding hands we turn and walk away.
"I love you" we each say.
Oh, what a grand day.
Wouldn't want it any other way.
