Let's Forgive Each Other And Start The Day Anew

Divider

by Gene Minix

Forgive me, I was so quick to judge
And said things out of the way.
I'm sorry, I should have thought
About the things I was to say.

Forgive me for passing the blame,
I'm to blame too, you see.
For I said things that cut so deep,
Will you please forgive me?

I never meant to hurt you
Nor you, me, I know.
We both spoke in haste
Words that hurt so.

Those words I wish I could take back
But they have landed on the day.
One thing I can promise though,
Those words again I'll never say.

So if you'll forgive me
It would really make my day.
I dont' even remember, now,
The words you had to say.

I have hid them forever
Out of my mind to stay.
Let's pretend they never were said
And start again a brand new day.
