Christmas Eve

It was Christmas Eve and throughout the land, all God's creatures were happy including man. At home my children pretended to be asleep, because when St. Nick came they wanted a quick peek. When the hours grew long on into the night with no sign of St. Nick it gave them a fright. So off to sleep they finally fell, to the land of enchantment their dreams did them so well. Ole St. Nick, he finally came, with presents galore each having a name. He slipped so quiet and carefully into our house, that not a soul heard him not even out pet mouse.

He filled the stockings one by one, while Christmas carols he did hum. And as he put their gifts under the tree, he knew these children would filled with glee. He was done here it was time for him to go, so he went to his reindeer sleigh sitting in the snow. He coaxed them into the midnight sky, seeing him leave brought a tear unto my eye. As he left I heard him say Merry Christmas to all, to all a good day.

The children got mom and dad out of bed, brought them to the tree their eyes all bloodshot tired and red. For they had been up all night long helping St.Nick to celebrate his Christmas song.
