Lost Love

What happens to a man without love?
Can he sing be happy or play?
With only memories of his loved one
Can man survive the night, the day?

His only loved one has left him
Oh where does he now belong?
His heart is full of great pain
Will she come back or stay gone?

I tried Dear Lord to keep her love
But I could not succeed
She has left me for another
Does my life now advance or recede?

The days come and the night go by
I'm as lonely as a solider can be
What is she doing now my God?
Does she even think of me?

If I can ever win her back
Things will once again be the same
For my heart is now shattered
Like pieces of a broken window pane

I did not cheat but was true
A weak one became strong
I tried so hard to do right
So where Lord did I go wrong?

My Lord. My God will tho help me?
For I love her so very much
That I cannot live without her love
Without her gentle touch

With trembling hands I write to her
To ask her again to be mine
And while waiting for her reply
